Maté is a tea-like drink that’s brewed from the leaves of the caffeine-rich, yerba maté plant. It's been enjoyed as a hot herbal tea for centuries throughout Latin America.
How is maté made?
Like coffee, maté quality varies greatly depending on where it’s grown. We source and blend two exceptional origins from independent farmers in South America, for a delicate, balanced soda. We add a pinch of sugar, and bubbles for a refreshing drink to help you power through your day!
What does it taste like?
Heyday Maté is kinda similar to an iced tea, but less sweet, with more complexity, a subtle smokiness and a gentle fizz. Our two origins provide notes of green tea, stone fruit and a slight dryness.
What other good stuff is in Heyday Maté?
Well since you asked *clears throat*, maté is naturally rich in caffeine (we never add any additional or artificial caffeine), which is cool, but it's accompanied by two other nifty compounds, theobromine and theophylline, that help to amplify caffeine’s effects. Maté also contains higher levels of antioxidants than green tea. But there's nothing artificial in there. Zero. Zilch. Nil.
How much caffeine is in there?
Each can of Heyday Maté contains approximately 75mg of naturally-occurring caffeine - roughly the same as a cuppa joe.
Is it vegan?
Why’s Heyday Maté in a can?
Because nothing beats that feeling when you crack open a crispy cold can. Aluminium cans are infinitely recyclable and lighter to transport compared to glass. The cans are also made and recycled in the UK, so it was a bit of a no brainer really.
